What SMU Confess does

SMU Confess is an anonymous confessions platform for the SMU student community, delivered as a Telegram bot and channel. You can submit a confession or a poll to be published to the channel without your name attached, comment anonymously on what others have posted, and start a private one-to-one conversation with another student under a pseudonym. Submissions are reviewed before they are published.

How we use your Google sign-in

SMU Confess is open to SMU students only, so we need to confirm you are one before you can post. That is the sole reason we ask you to sign in with Google.

We request two things and nothing else: the openid identifier and your email address(the email scope). We use your email address for exactly one purpose — to check that it belongs to the smu.edu.sg domain, which tells us you are part of the SMU community.

We never receive your Google password. We do not read your mail, contacts, calendar, files or any other Google data. Your email address is never displayed to other users, never attached to anything you post, never sold, and never used for advertising or to build a profile of you. Full details, including how long we keep it and how to request its deletion, are in our Privacy Policy.

SMU Confess is operated independently by students. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Singapore Management University.
